A TikTok user who took advantage of Amazon's refund policy has sparked a heated debate on social media. The customer allegedly lied to the company, saying she never received a package she ordered.
“Customer Service: Ma’m we’re sorry you didn’t receive your Amazon order, we’ll issue you a refund,” the woman wrote on social media as she recapped her conversation with Amazon.
The post has since been deleted from the platform.
But the woman's attempt to get a refund wasn't well-received among some of her followers. According to some of the concerned social media users, deceitful customers can make it difficult for others to get an honest refund.
“It’s messed up cuz they’re not going to believe me if my order doesn’t show up,” a social media user wrote, according to the Daily Dot.
Amazon employees also spoke about how they could be impacted by lying customers.
“As an Amazon flex delivery driver this affects us … I almost got kicked out cause [people] kept saying they didn’t receive their package,” one employee said.
Others issued a warning to the deceitful customer, speaking from their own experience.
“Be careful they banned my entire address for doing this I guess that iPad I didn’t receive was my last straw,” one person said.
There were several more people who issued similar warnings.
“Eventually you’ll get flagged by Amazon and banned from ordering lol I used to work there,” one social media user added.
“Girl they be quick to close people account lol that’s why I stop,” another person added.
Some people, however, are not showing any concerns, citing Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' net worth.
“Jeff make almost $4k per second. He’ll be alright,” one person said.
