With an announced focus on women in film and media, the 3rd edition of the Chelsea Film Festival (CFF) in New York City will run from October 15-18th, at the SVA Theatre, Katie Murphy Amphitheatre (FIT), David Dubinsky Student Center (FIT) and other locations in Manhattan.
This year’s installment’s lineup of films includes 19 features and 47 shorts, representing 13 different countries, including Argentina, Belgium, Cuba, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Israel, Morocco, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK, and the USA.
In light of this year’s focus, the lineup of features includes 5 titles directed women, 8 produced by women and 6 written written by women; and among the shorts, 16 are directed by women.
Fifteen Films will compete for the festival’s Grand Prix.
The full list of films (shorts and features) follow below. Much to chew on here, with a few titles I’m familiar with, but most are foreign to me, which I’m looking forward to discovering – one of the more exciting parts of my job (learning about new films, especially when they’re strong).
