ICE officials detained 21 Savage (real name Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph) on Sunday after his alleged United States visa expired, and new details are surfacing about the rapper's living conditions while in the government agency's custody.
In a now-deleted tweet, the "X" rapper's co-manager, Stone Mound Meezy, provided followers with an update on his client while in ICE's care. Despite being on lockdown for 23 hours a day, Meezy said 21 remains thankful for the support of his fans.
"Just got off phone wit Savage," Complex writes of Meezy's tweet. "He is in lockdown for 23hrs of the day no TV or any communication besides our 10 min phone calls… Everything I've told him that has been happening made him happy & makes this time fly by thank y'all for the support."
In a statement issued by his lawyer on Tuesday, 21's legal team clarified his visa status and explained that ICE could institute a bond for individuals who do not pose a serious threat.
"Mr. Abraham-Joseph was born in the United Kingdom. Mr. Abraham-Joseph arrived legally in the United States at the age of 7 under an H-4 visa."
The statement continues: "Mr. Abraham-Joseph is not subject to mandatory detention under federal law and is eligible for bond. By statute, bond should be granted by ICE when there is no flight risk or a danger to the community. ICE has the ability to set a bond and conditions of release on cases exactly like this."
Savage's arrest has prompted a slew of rappers from J. Cole to Cardi B to advocate for his release—the latter of whom Savage collaborated to produce "Cartier Bardi."
Praying for 21 savage let that man be with and provide for his kids.

Members of the House of Representatives have also made calls for his release. Congressman Hank Johnson (D-GA) drafted a letter on Sunday to an immigration judge in 21's defense and pleaded for the judge to consider the "Bank Account" rapper being the only source of income for his primary family.
"She'yaa was born outside of the United States and moved here at a very young age with his parents, sister and brother," Johnson wrote. "He was raised and spent his formative years in and around Atlanta, and he has developed deep family roots and personal ties to our wonderful state of Georgia, and to Gwinnett and DeKalb counties in particular. She'syaa's immediate family members residing there include his mother, three sisters, two brothers and three children. She’yaa is the primary breadwinner for most of his siblings, and for his children."
