It is hard to imagine what the world was like before Cardi B's ascendancy to the top of the rap game. Exactly one year ago, Cardi's first single "Bodak Yellow" hit the airwaves and snatched wigs along the way.

The bonafide hit has since become a pop culture phenomenon that has broken records, dominated the charts and made the Bronx rapper a star.

Here are seven moments "Bodak Yellow" made the culture proud:

1. Denzel and the champs love it

A few months prior to beating the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52, Eagles running backs were bopping to "Bodak Yellow" after a game last year. e

Plus, legendary actor Denzel Washington is also a fan. He rapped a few verses for The Root back in April.

2. Issa revolution

"Bodak Yellow" just isn't for dipping it low. The song's lyrics were being used on protest signs during the Women's March earlier this year.

Some signs used the "these is bloody shoes" line to attack the Trump administration's harsh policies.

3. Issa educational tool

Middle school teacher Erica Buddington remixed "Bodak Yellow" to teach her students geography. She took the line, "These expensive, these is red bottoms, these is bloody shoes" and changed it to: "Yeah, it's cold/ So I just put on my Nautica/ If I'm trying to trek south, end up in Antarctica." And, yes, every one of her students' grades went up.

4. Tiffany Haddish no longer has the burden of deciding on a soundtrack for her funeral

The comedienne, known for her hot takes and constant spilling of tea, said she wanted the song played at her funeral.

5. Janet Jackson danced to the hit

During one of her State of the World Tour, the pop icon took a moment to rock to "Bodak Yellow" before getting into her 1986 hit, "What Have You Done for Me Lately."

6. It knocked Taylor Swift right off the top

In September, "Bodak Yellow" came for Swift's comeback single “Look What You Made Me Do” and didn't miss. Cardi B took the No. 1 spot on Billboard's 100 and dethroned Swift.

7. It gave black folks on Twitter another reason to come together

Sans requests, a white YouTuber felt compelled to whitesplain "Bodak Yellow" and was promptly gathered.
