One of the most anticipated films of the year, Half Of A Yellow Sun, which has been called
the most expensive Nigerian movie ever made so date, starring Chiwetel Ejoifor and Thandie Newton, and based on the novel by Chimamanda
Ngoze Adichie, will be finally released in the U.K. in April, and here
in the U.S. this summer as well, by Monterey Media.

But what about the director of the film, Biyi Bandele? Why did he decide to make
the film? How did he raise the money to make such an ambitious project? And what was the process in getting it done?

Well, if you fortunately live in the U.K., you can find out
for yourself, since Bandele will be interviewed by Nadia Denton (The Black British Filmmaker’s Guide to Success) next month, at the  Watersprite International Student Film Festival in Cambridge U.K.

Bandele will discuss the making of Yellow Sun, along with along
with “interesting anecdotes, unexpected revelations, and an insight into the
current situation of the Nigerian film industry.”

The event will take place at Divinity School, St John’s College, Main Lecture Theatre, on Saturday March 8 starting at 2PM.
