According to sources close to Trump, the president and his allies are seething after A$AP Rocky showed them no love for trying to get the rapper released from jail in Sweden earlier this month.

Attempts to get Rocky home safe and sound created an intense environment behind the scenes as Trump worked to establish ties with the Black community, Yahoo News reports. When Trump’s allies, including Ohio Pastor Darrell Scott and Kareem Lanier, reached out to Rocky’s team to increase the president’s image within the Black community, Pretty Flacko essentially left them on read.

After hearing that the "Goldie" rapper had been detained in Sweden, Hassan Muhammad, who is reportedly a “fixer” for A-listers in the entertainment industry, chimed in to help Scott and Lanier get the rapper released.

“If you are in a situation like this, then there's only one or two places you call, the White House or the State Department,” Muhammad told Rocky’s team. “I know somebody at the White House.”

Lanier also reportedly felt like this moment with Rocky would help Trump’s cause to act in the interest of criminal justice reform.

“The president is so pro-criminal justice reform, sentencing reform… we knew this would be something that would be right up his wheelhouse,” Lanier said.

Muhammad, Lanier and Scott coordinated with the rapper’s manager, John Ehmann, who expressed great concern that without the White House’s help, “Rocky is screwed.” Lanier reportedly said the White House did not request anything more than a thank you from Rocky’s team, to which Ehmann complied. However, members of Rocky’s team have been radio silent and have not responded to continuous requests for comment.

According to Rocky’s manager, the rapper was tired and needed time to rest.

“All he had to do was do a two-minute call to say thank you,” Scott insisted. “Rocky hasn’t even called us and said, ‘Hey, man, thank you guys. I appreciate it,’ in private. Just in private.”
