Few updates have been revealed about the status of rapper A$AP Rocky's release from a Swedish prison since his arrest. In a new report from TMZ, however, details have emerged about the horrific jail conditions the "Praise the Lord" rapper is forced to endure.

As Blavity previously reported, A$AP Rocky (real name Rakim Mayers) was arrested and charged with assault on July 3 for attacking two men who were allegedly following his entourage around the streets of Sweden. The New York native was in the European nation performing at a festival in Stockholm when the incident occurred. Per a fellow associate of the 30-year-old's Mob group, he was being held under solitary confinement at Kronoberg prison.

TMZ noted Tuesday that Rocky's conditions are less than desirable and are unfit for a normal human to bear. Per the entertainment site, the prison is strewn with human feces, the water is filthy and his meals are inedible.

A source close to the publication did mention that Rocky's attorneys are working to involve the State Department to initiate his release, but Swedish courts have denied those efforts.

Since news broke about his surroundings, an official from the jail holding Rocky has refuted reports about the conditions, telling BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat the facility is in "good condition."

"I have no knowledge on any current diseases in the remand prison," Fredrik Wallin said Wednesday.

Online, friends of the musician have led campaigns for his release under the hashtag #JusticeForRocky.

Meanwhile, Wallin wouldn't disclose any other information about the famous prisoner, but he added that prisoners at his jail typically reside in cells that include a desk, a mattress bed and a television. This contradicts TMZ's claim that Rocky had been sleeping on a yoga mat without a blanket since he arrived at the facility.
