nullAaron McGruder has signed a first-look development deal with Adult Swim that will be launched with "Hooligan Squad," a live-action pilot set in the future, about an American insurgency in Japanese-occupied San Francisco.

“With "The Boondocks" and the upcoming "Black Jesus" series we consider Aaron very instrumental in the success of Adult Swim and this deal is the continuation of a great partnership,” said Mike Lazzo, executive vice president/creative director of Adult Swim.

McGruder added: “It’s a rare thing to have a network home. Even more rare is a home that wants to see you grow and expand as a creator. Adult Swim is headed to new horizons and I’m happy to be along for the ride."

Adult Swim’s recently-announced 2014-2015 slate includes "Black Jesus," the Aaron McGruder half-hour live-action scripted comedy series which finds Jesus living in present day Compton, CA on a daily mission to spread love and kindness throughout the neighborhood, with the help of his small but loyal group of downtrodden followers.

There will also be "Mike Tyson Mysteries," a new half-hour animated adult comedy series featuring a cartoon Mike Tyson who solves mysteries, aided by the Mike Tyson Mystery Team, made up of the Ghost of the Marquess of Queensbury, Mike’s adopted Korean daughter, and a pigeon who was once a man.

And finally, there will also be a live-action World Star Hip Hop Project-inspired project.

The news of the new development deal was first reported by Deadline.
