Last month, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences introduced its Academy Originals series, a slate of documentary-style videos looking inside the creative process.
 
The series launched with episodes featuring filmmaker Tina Gordon Chism, entertainer Patton Oswalt, and a look into the filmgoing experience of the blind. 

Of interest to our readers, a new episode featuring filmmaker Ava DuVernay has been released today, where the writer-director explains her process of discovering new stories and nurturing creative energy.
