The power-packed lineup for the 2018 Afropunk Festival in Brooklyn has been announced, and it includes fan-favorites Janelle Monae, Willow Smith, Erykah Badu and many more!

The theme for this year's Afropunk is, “The People Resist.”  The founders released this statement, sharing how they define resistance. "This resistance is not new! We, the people who have lived under the thumb of white supremacy, gender inequality, homophobia, environmental rape and economic apartheid have always known that when the world is an outrage, the sensible thing to do is defy it."

That defiance will come in the form of a two-day event featuring, in addition to the Smith, Monae and Badu, Tyler, the Creator, the Internet, Jaden Smith, Ibeyi, Denzel Curry, Smino, Yuna, Jamila Woods, Lolawolf and H.E.R.

Twitter went wild after hearing the news:

According to Rolling Stone, Afropunk has launched a new initiative in partnership with local organizations Recess Art and Young New Yorkers to give away free tickets. The Buy One, Give One, campaign promises to give a ticket to a New York City-area youth for every general admission ticket purchased.

There are other ways to score free tickets to the festival. Fans can participate in Afropunk Army, a social justice advocacy program. Afropunk Army program will be launched later this spring, and will allow members to complete volunteer and community services hours in return for a ticket.

We can't wait to see you there!
