After nearly a week of backlash, David Mesher, the man who harassed a Black woman on a Ryanair Flight, has apologized for his racist rant.
Mesher appeared on UK news show Good Morning Britain to tell the world he isn't a racist. A viral video, from an October 19 Ryanair flight from Barcelona to London, caught Mesher yelling at 77-year-old Delsie Gayle.
“I probably lost my temper a bit and ordered her to get up,” he said. “I’m not a racist person by any means, and it’s just a fit of temper at the time, I think.”
The man who racially abused an elderly black passenger onboard a Ryanair flight has apologised for his outburst, saying he is not a racist and blaming a fit of temper for the incident which went viral.

He called the Jamaican immigrant an "ugly Black bastard" and refused to sit next to her. We reported that his request was immediately granted by flight attendants, who seemingly were unable to diffuse the situation.
Mesher told her to “Don’t talk to me in a f**king foreign language, you stupid, ugly cow” when she spoke English in a patois accent. He also threatened to forcibly remove the woman if she did not get up willingly.
On Good Morning Britain, the angry airline passenger was singing a different tune. “I apologize for all the distress you’ve had there and since,” Mesher said.
But Gayle will not be accepting his apology anytime soon. The pain she felt for his racist attack still lingers. In an interview with ITV, she revealed she's had issues sleeping and is dealing with depression.
“I don’t think so,” she told The Independent. “You must forget and forgive, but it’s going to take a long time for me to get over what he has done to me.”
