Alexander Wang is partnering with popular NYC-based brand Procell to release a designer hip-hop collection featuring the likeness of iconic artists like Lauryn Hill, Wu-Tang Clan, Aaliyah, Public Enemy, and Junior Mafia among others. The line, which is comprised of 40 vintage tee-shirts, is not the designers first foray into hip-hop culture. Notoriously friendly with Kanye West, the designer has also collaborated on fashion projects with The Weekend,  A$AP Mob, Jhené Aiko, and other hip-hop artists.

While Wang's new line of shirts are not unlike designs sold by Forever21, Urban Outfitters, and your average street vendor on 125th Street in Harlem, with price points ranging from $300 to $2,000, the brand cashes in on it's luxury cache. “I’ve always believed that ‘luxury’ is defined in many ways; to some, a rare T-shirt with sentimental value may be the most luxurious item in their closet. These shirts are not only articles of clothing, they really are artifacts from a moment in time. I love how they tell a story from such a specific event and simultaneously blend a feeling of discovery and nostalgia,” the designer told HypeBeast of his upcoming collection.
