Lynyrd Skynyrd is not the only one singing ‘Sweet Home Alabama”! American Idol‘s Kezia “Lady K” Istonia is representing for Montgomery and the young songstress is incredibly proud after landing in the Top 24.

“We’re in here, America. And the only thing that’s going to keep me here is y’all on these phones, like y’all are right now,” said Lady K, in a video message to her fans, as reported by Montgomery Advertiser. “Send in those votes when it’s time to vote!”

“Every episode, y’all were watching and waiting. Watching and waiting,” Lady K continued. “I did not know that I wasn’t going to be seen in the way that I thought I was. But I’m glad that I had y’all’s undivided attention and your continued support because that support is what I’m going to need to remain in this competition.”

After belting out the Etta James classic, “I Rather Go Blind” during the Showstopper Round, Lady K landed in the Top 24. She had been missing during previous episodes with glimpses of her here and there.

“She knows what she’s doing,” Lionel Richie shared, with Luke Bryan adding, “She’s real.”

Richie shouted “Tuskegee!” as she walked off the stage, referring to the fact that he is from Tuskegee and Lady K currently resides there. Fans gave her a round of applause.

“I think this is just the start of many moments like this in my life,” Lady K said. “I was out here with nothing. Nothing. And I made something out of nothing. I hope to inspire, encourage and motivate people who think that they can’t do it to just get out there and do it. The only person in your way is you.”
