Comedienne Amy Schumer is asking the right questions when it comes to white players not kneeling in protest against injustice and police brutality.
The funny woman known for her off-color comedy has become more vocal politically in the wake of the midterm elections. She took to Instagram Friday to challenge white NFL players to take a knee against injustice.
"I wonder why more white players aren’t kneeling," Schumer wrote on Instagram. "Once you witness the truly deep inequality and endless racism people of color face in our country, not to mention the police brutality and murders. Why not kneel next to your brothers? Otherwise, how are you not complicit?"
And she didn't stop there.
Schumer also announced she would not appear in any Super Bowl ads as long as former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick continues to be blackballed by the league.
Miami Dolphins players Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson and formerly blackballed player Eric Reid, who now plays for the Carolina Panthers, have continued the protests started by Kaep.
About two years ago, Schumer appeared in a Bud Light Super Bowl ad, and she has vowed not to do any until the league changes its stance on the protests, according to USA Today.
"I personally told my reps I wouldn't do a Super Bowl commercial this year," Schumer wrote. "I know it must sound like a privilege ass sacrifice but it's all I got. …Hitting the NFL with the advertisers is the only way to hurt them."
Her announcement comes just a day after pop princess Rihanna revealed she turned down the Super Bowl halftime show to support Kaep.
