A Portland, Oregon, food truck owner has been charged with misdemeanor assault after he was accused of hurling racial slurs and food items at a black woman.

According to Willamette Week, Carlotta Washington says Islam Elmasry got angry when she tried to pay for her food with quarters.

Video footage from the incident shows Elmasry throwing a Gatorade bottle at Washington, causing her to drop her phone. Washington claims the man called her the N-word and sprayed her with sriracha.

"It was in my eyes and all on my skin. It was burning terribly," Washington said.

Witness Rachel Good corroborated the account, saying the sauce covered Washington’s face, shoulders and shirt.

Onlookers can be heard scolding Elmasry, telling him he assaulted Washington. She urged them to call the police. He was arrested on Tuesday, June 5, and police charged him with misdemeanor assault and harassment. His bail was set for $4000.
