Angela Bassett will indeed return for the next season of "American Horror Story," which will be titled "American Horror Story: Hotel", the fifth installment of Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology series.
Bassett joins fellow AHS alum Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Wes Bentley, Chloë Sevigny and Matt Bomer in the cast of "Hotel," along with newcomers Lady Gaga and Cheyenne Jackson.
As has been the case for previous season, little is known at this time about what story the next season of AHS will tell, and what roles each of the above actors will play.
Bassett most recently starred as Desiree Dupree in the most recent season, titled "American Horror Story: Freak Show," and played Marie Laveau in the season before that, titled "Coven," a role that earned her a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2014.
She is currently in production on the feature films "Survivor" and "London Has Fallen."
Production of the 13-episode "Hotel" will begin in Los Angeles in late summer, and will air on FX in October.
