Another black British actor has joined the cast of season 2 of the hit HBO show, Game Of Thrones.
Entertainment Weekly reports exclusively that Lucian Msamati has signed on to play a Lyseni pirate named Salladhor Saan – described as “a friend of Davos Seaworth; a mercenary pirate who joins the ranks of Stannis Baratheon’s rebellion against the Lannister forces at King’s Landing.”
Got that fans of the series? As I said in the last casting announcement about Thrones (British up-and-comer Nonso Anozie), none of that means anything to me, because, once again, I haven’t been keeping up with the series. But I assume it’ll make some sense to those of you who have (or who have read the books).
I’m told that the role brother Msamati will play in season 2 of the series is significant, so he should chew up a bit of scenery, utilizing his stage and screen talents.
Msamati will likely be recognizable to those who’ve watched No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency in which he had a featured role.
With Anozie and now Msamati joining Thrones, I just will have to make watching it a priority now, catching up with all the episodes of season 1 so that I’m primed for season 2 when it comes around.
