We've heard several projects over the last few months which Fuqua has been attached to direct, but none which have started production that we know of. We last told you about Fuqua in talks to direct the Millenium thriller Olympus Has Fallen, described as a “Die Hard in the White House." Apparently, studios were rushing go into production for Olympus this summer to get ahead of the similarly themed film White House Down.

There were also reports of Fuqua directing a screen adaptation of the Fox series 24, but that project looks to be dead in the water due to budget issues.

But now Fuqua is in negotiations to direct New Line Cinema's crime drama Chicagoland, written by Peter Morgan and to be produced by Simon Kinberg.

No other details are available about Chicagoland besides that it revolves around a heist and it's a crime drama.

Fuqua was also supposedly attached to direct Legendary's Steel Town (news to us – will do some more research), Summit-Lionsgate's Storming Vegas, which was news last summer; Vegas is based on the book Storming Las Vegas: How a Cuban-Born, Soviet-Trained Commando Took Down The Strip to the Tune of Five World Class Hotels, Three Armored Cars, and Millions of Dollars, and the long-in-gestation Eminem boxing flick Southpaw.

We also told you back in September of last year that the Training Day director was set to direct and produce a new documentary project based on the life and exploits of Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight for Showtime.

Needless to say, he should be very busy. We'll definitely update you on any developments regarding all these projects he's attached to.
