After director Joss Whedon announced that he was no longer attached to DC Comics' Batgirl solo film, Roxane Gay expressed interest and offered to write the film via Twitter.

Shadow & Act reported that Whedon stepped away Thursday, claiming that after a year of being on the project that he just did not have a story in mind for the DCEU installment. The acclaimed novelist and social media maven sent shockwaves throughout Twitter when she threw her name into the ring — sparking a response from Michele Wells, vice president at Warner Brothers Entertainment.

But some people had an issue with the possibility of Gay penning the DC Comic story. Twitter user Jake Pentland decided to make a comment about Gay's weight and seemingly dismissing her as if she was not deserving enough to write the film's screenplay.

With a whole lot of class, Gay destroyed the Twitter troll in a single tweet.

Somebody should have told Jake to not be so quick with the Twitter fingers.

While nothing has been confirmed, Batgirl wouldn't be Gay's first time venturing into the comic book world. Despite being cancelled in 2017, she wrote “Black Panther: World of Wakanda” for Marvel Comics in 2016.
