Former President Barack Obama told a crowd at a private event in Singapore on leadership on Monday that the world would be a better place if women were given the reigns of leadership.
"I’m absolutely confident that for two years if every nation on earth was run by women, you would see significant improvement across the board on just about everything … living standards and outcomes,” Obama said, according to the BBC.
Obama also addressed whether he would go back into the field of politics, noting that leaders need to step aside when their time has passed and leadership positions should not be for life.
Those comments were in the same breath of former Arkansas governor, Mike Huckabee, tweeting President Trump's desire to run for a third term in 2024.
I'll be on @seanhannity 2nite @FoxNews at 9pm ET and will explain how @realDonaldTrump will be eligible for a 3rd term due to the illegal attempts by Comey, Dems, and media , et al attempting to oust him as @POTUS so that's why I was named to head up the 2024 re-election.

"If you look at the world and look at the problems, it's usually old people, usually old men, not getting out of the way," Obama said at the event in Singapore. "It is important for political leaders to try and remind themselves that you are there to do a job, but you are not there for life, you are not there in order to prop up your own sense of self-importance or your own power."
On top of calling for women to take over roles of leadership, Obama also took the time to explain the difficulties of the role.
"We had the expression ― and I believe you would have an equivalent here ― that poop does not roll downhill in the White House, it rolls uphill,” Obama said at the Singapore Expo. “To me, it landed up on my desk.”
Since leaving the White House, he has used the Obama Foundation to set up mentoring programs for young leaders around the world.
