Here's a look at what defintely looks like a very interesting and worthwhile feature film to check out. Currently in post-production, Late Summer, which was written and directed by Ernie Park and produced by Michael Garziano and Shawn Whitsell, is inspired, according to the filmmakers, by the sutble and sensitive films by the great Japanese director Yasujiro Ozu.

In fact the title of the film is clearly meant as an homage to Ozu's 1950's and 60's films such as Early Spring and Late Autumn.

Starring Michelle Lynn Hardin and Tamiko Robinson the film according to the synopisis deals with explores "the love and loss between a parent and a child. Nadia deferred her accetance to a prestigious college to stay home with Sonya, her mother and best friend who was severely ill. A year later Sonya has fully recovered, but Nadia cannot bear to leave her. As her family and friends pressure her to go away to school, Nadia clings to the hope of staying home and starting a cafe with Sonya. As summer ends, she must try to reconcile her fears, her mother's changing needs and the possibility that a new life is opening up before her."
