Kathleen Lights, a 25-year-old beauty blogger on YouTube, was caught using the N-word in a Snapchat video posted by fellow internet personality, Jaclyn Hill, Saturday night, according to Bustle.

She later posted an apology letter to fans on Instagram, but to some, that apology fell short.

In her apology, she claimed it was a "mistake" and that she "accidentally" used the racial slur.

She later sent out a tweet to clarify that the version of the n-word she used did not end it with an -er, but with an -a.

She then stated that the Snapchat video didn't reflect "who she is," and blamed the incident on drunkenness.

I am disabling comments on this post because people in the comments were attacking peoples cultures & race & it's wrong…. You can be upset with me but please try to be kind to one another-I'm so sorry about what I did & how many people I hurt. I believe in equality & I've always stood by that. I know I've apologized 100 times but I just want everyone to know I truly feel terrible. I will do what I can from this point on to prove to those who doubt me that I am not that person & all I can hope is that you'll give me a chance. Please don't be upset or attack Jaclyn for this. The one in the wrong is ME. She wasn't trying to sabotage me. She's not like that. I messed up…this is about me. PLEASE BE KIND TO HER! ——- although I appreciate EVERYONES comments. This message was directed to those of you who were truly hurt by this. Those of you affected by this word. People are under the impression I said N****r (I did not) but the word I said is still JUST AS WRONG. I didn't say it in a racist context but honestly I shouldn't have said it AT ALL.

This probably won't surprise you, but most people were not hearing it. And by most people, we mean Black Twitter.

Leave it to Black Twitter to read you your rights.

Of course, Lights had her supporters, who claim that since she is a Latinx woman, she should be able to use the derogatory term.

Black Twitter also had something to say about that.

Again for the people in the back!

In the video Hill posted, Lights seemed to foresee this happening. "Oh, I said the n-word. Don't post that," Lights can be heard telling Hill.
