Not only is Beyoncé lending her voice in the remake of Disney's The Lion King, but the Emmy nominee also executive produced a companion album titled The Lion King: The Gift that features original songs from a myriad of Black artists.

During the Robin Roberts-hosted ABC special The Lion King: Can You Feel the Love Tonight on Tuesday, Bey premiered the music video for lead single "Spirit" and eloquently explained the inspiration behind the forthcoming album, scheduled to be released Friday.

"This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it," the voice of Nala in the CGI remake said.

"We've kind of created our own genre and I feel like the soundtrack is the first soundtrack where it becomes visual in your mind. The soundscape is more than just the music because each song tells the story of the film."

In the video, Beyoncé sits in a flowing gown in the middle of the desert with eldest daughter Blue Ivy, looking regal in the blue dress next to a crystal-clear waterfall, and performs breathtaking choreography with an accompaniment of African dancers. Throughout the video, snippets of The Lion King can be seen, including the iconic scene where a young Simba places his paw inside the print of late father Mufasa.

"The concept of the video is to show how God is the painter, and natural beauty in nature needs no art direction," the 37-year-old said in Tuesday's special. "It's the beauty of color, the beauty of melanin, the beauty of tradition."

Seems like Twitter was well on board with this explanation because the reactions were nothing short of amazement, glee and appreciation for the multi-talented entertainer.

The Jon Favreau-directed remake hits theaters Friday and features some of Hollywood's finest thespians, including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Keegan-Michael Key, Alfre Woodard, Donald Glover and James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa from the 1994 original animated film.
