We’ve have certainly covered Bill Duke’s and D. Channsin Berry’s documentary Dark Girls about “color consciousness” in the black community, and especially how it effects black women; and it’s gotten its fair share of controversy – both pro and con; which, of course, was the filmmakers’ intention.

The film will be playing at the Toronto Film Festival this month, and will also screen for those in the Chicagoland area, who are interested in the film.

The film will be screened on Monday October 10, starting at 7PM, at the DuSable Museum of African American History, located on the South Side of Chicago.

And furthermore, both Duke and Berry will be present for the screening and a discussion afterward.
