Centers for Disease Control (CDC) epidemiologist Timothy Cunningham went missing on February 12. His family noted that he wasn't feeling well prior to his disappearance. According to ABC News, he disappeared with all of his belongings still at home, including his dog.

"It's not the type of news you want to hear,” Terrell Cunningham, the 35-year-old's father said. “Your child is missing. Thirty-five years old, but always your child."

"I have been trying my best to go through daily activities such as work without getting distracted," Timothy's sister, Tiara, told ABC in March, noting that she was "remaining positive and prayerful … But no one can really prepare you for seeing your face or your brother's face on the news while at work."

Unfortunately, Timothy's body was found near the Chattahoochee River late Tuesday night, according to WSB-TV Atlanta

“We were aware of some concerns at work that he had shared with us and there were some personal issues too,” noted Atlanta Police Major Michael O'Connor. Timothy's family stated that he had a conversation with them the day before he vanished that left them concerned.

Timothy Cunningham was a Morehouse College and Harvard University graduate. His work as a public health service commander included responding to public health emergencies such as the Ebola and Zika viruses.
