We can all agree that if you grew up in the 90s, it was a happier time. I know this new generation is tired of hearing it but you guys honestly missed out on a great decade. This explains why the nostalgia is so high from that specific time period especially involving it's entertainment, music, fashion, etc. It was a vibe, an overall mood.

29-year-old Mississippi artist, Brandon Avant, grew up watching and loving 90s cartoons especially the ones that helped black children understand their culture like "The Proud Family". According to the Huffington Post, Avant, a fashion design student at The University of Portland, regularly posted his artwork on Instagram but his desire to reminisce on dope cartoons by aging some of our favorite animated characters gained him Internet fame.

It was back in March, when he shared his remix to the classic Doug, showing the crew all grown and tatted up. Overnight, the piece received nearly 3,000 likes and that's when Avant committed to doing at least 10 more drawings of the same concept.

Avant has gone on the cover classics such as "Recess", "The Boondocks" and "The Powerpuff Girls" along side their male counterparts, The Rowdyruff Boys. If there's any cartoon you feel like Avant is missing from his collection or would love for him to do an original anime piece, he takes commissions.
