Meet Jagmeet Singh. Singh is a Canadian politician and prominent voice of the New Democratic party in Toronto. And if you don't know, now you know.

Singh — who practices the Sikh faith — recently held a meet-and-greet where he was approached by a belligerent white woman who confronted him with a spew of racist and Islamophobic insults.

How did Singh react? With love.

As the woman aggressively screams in his face, accusing him of trying to bring sharia law to Canada, Singh is heard asking the crowd, "What do we believe in? That's right, love and courage."

In response, his crowd of supporters started chanting his name.

Sharia law is, of course, a set of laws that come from Islamic tradition. Countries practicing sharia law include, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the U.A.E. and Iraq Pakistan. Canada does not practice sharia law.

Singh is not a Muslim, but a Sikh. Sikhism is a religion with roots in India that is based upon the teachings of a series of gurus.

The woman's racist spewing went on for minutes, but it seemed like hours. Still, Singh didn't let her hate shake him in the slightest. Instead, he calmly received her criticism, and looked good while doing so, dressed in a nice three-piece suit.

Although he could have had the woman ejected, Singh instead used the incident as a teachable moment, saying that he believes in an "inclusive Canada that does not leave anybody behind."

One thing he does leave behind, however, is hate. As he said, "We don't want to be intimidated by hate! We don't want hatred to ruin a positive event."

As the crowd continued to chant, "Jagmeet, Jagmeeet, Jagmeet!," he looked at the woman screaming at him and said, "We welcome you! We welcome you! We love you!"

Though he assured her that she had a right to be heard, he let her know that her approach wasn't "the best way to do it."

With a calm resolve that many have to admit they wouldn't be able to muster in such circumstances, Singh has positioned himself to be a true leader.

Shout out to Jagmeet Singh!
