Cardi B is responding to people who are criticizing her for taking too long to drop a new album. The back-and-forth started after a TikTok user called out people for giving Cardi a pass while bashing Saweetie.

Speaking in defense of Saweetie, who recently faced criticism for allegedly selling less than 2000 copies of The Single Life album in the first week according to XXL Mag, the TikTok user said people should focus more on calling out artists such as Cardi.

“This girl hasn’t released a album since 2018,” the TikTok user said about Cardi. “Invasion of Privacy came out in 2018. She’s scared to release, but y’all ain’t said nothing. At least these other girls out here releasing something whether it sell or not.”

Cardi responded after the TikTok video made its way to Twitter.

“I’m never afraid of numbers honey,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet according to XXL Mag. “And I don’t gotta put an another album if I want to I EATS GOOD OF MY diamond records alone. Don’t drag other b***hes to make your point drag the man that’s running their mouth…Grown man!”

The 30-year-old artist also reshared an old tweet to remind people that her 2019 arena tour became the first concert tour by a female rapper in history to average over $1 million gross per show.

“Mind you it was only 7 shows …..Let’s not talk about numbers,” she wrote.

Another fan asked Cardi why she hasn’t dropped an album or gone on tour recently.

“You can’t get mad that ppl think you’re scared cause if so, what’s the hold up?” the fan said. “You been stringing your fans along for years. And is that why you won’t release? You’re content eating off of old records that most don’t care about anymore?”

Before deleting her tweet, Cardi made it clear that she will do what she wants with her projects whenever she’s ready.

“I am a human baby,” she wrote. “I gotta mentally & physically prepare myself for all of that .I didn’t have management for 2 years and now I’m feelin ready ..I DO THINGS ON MY TIME MY WAY.”
