February 2018 can't come fast enough. But in the meantime, we'll continue to gawk at the Black Panther photos and trailers and get inspired by all that melanin.

As they continue to entice us with appearances at D23 and other events leading up to the release, the cast members drop bread crumbs about the film that we're not ashamed of following. The cast and crew are keeping details under wraps, but Chadwick Boseman revealed to Essence a little history about the Dora Milaje, T'Challa's black female bodyguards.

"The Dora Milaje is something that has been a part of some of the earlier runs of Black Panther; specifically in the Christopher Priest version. In those versions, the Dora Milaje were basically wives in training. They were Black Panther's potential wives."

Boseman added that the women in the film, who demand power and respect all on their own, are more like the guards in Ta-Nehisi Coates' recent interpretation of the popular comic. He couldn't deny that these ladies are much more in control of their destinies and are definitely cooler and more powerful.

We already know Black Panther will be lit and the talents of the cast are endless. The release of recent photos and teasers encouraged Black Twitter to start working on costumes for the day of the priemiere.

Black Panther is set to premiere Feb. 16, 2018 and we're more than ready.
