Chance the Rapper revealed he saved a man from a burning car in an Instagram story recapping his past year.

NBC Chicago reports the 25-year-old, born Chancellor Bennett, pulled a man out of a charred car on Easter Sunday last year in Chicago.

While driving to church, he saw the mangled vehicle and leapt into action.

“Ay so I never told this to the world but my friends can merch,” he wrote on one of his Instagram stories. “I saved a person's life by myself on Easter Sunday this year omw [on my way] To church. NBS on everything.”

2018 was monumental for the independent artist. He proposed to longtime girlfriend, Kirsten Katrina Corley, in an intimate Independence Day family gathering. Video capturing the touching moment saw Chance declare his love for his soulmate. The two have been together since 2013 and have a 5-year-old daughter.

But Chance managed to keep his good deed a secret for most of the year. The man's car reportedly sped into a wall when Chance happened upon the accident. When he got out to help, the car was engulfed in flames forcing him to break the window and remove the man from the vehicle.

“Basically I was driving to church dolo, about to go south on Lakeshore and another car drives into the wall in front of me goin like 90mph comin off the exit,” he wrote. “I was the only person out there when it first happened and his car was on fire so I had to break his window take off his seatbelt let his seat back and pull whole grown man out the car unconscious.”

One fan wrote around the time he witnessed the rapper save the man. His observation was confirmed New Year's Eve. According to Consequence of Sound, Chance did not know the fate of the man he saved, but his Instagram story came across one of the man's relatives.

“A kid DM’d me saying it was his uncle and that he lived," Chance wrote on Twitter.

Now that Chance has dabbled in everything including music, business, acting and part-time superhero, what's next?
