Cyntoia Brown-Long is speaking out about her newfound freedom ahead of the release of her new book.

On Tuesday, the cover for the 31-year-old newly freed inmate's new memoir was released.

Told in her own words, Free Cyntoia: My Search for Redemption in the American Prison System details her spiritual journey, discovering love and several other subjects.

“I am loving every single thing about being in my own home…being able to cook for myself and decide how I want to spend my day feels amazing," she told NBC News.

"Those simple pleasures that people take for granted are what I looked forward to when I sat in prison dreaming of freedom,” she continued.

Earlier this month, she was freed from a Tennessee prison after being sentenced to life as a teenager for murdering real estate agent Johnny Mitchell Allen. She said that he paid her for sex and that she later feared for her life when she believed she saw him reaching for a gun.

After the 43-year-old was found dead from a single gunshot wound to the head, Brown-Long was tried in the case as an adult. She was convicted on charges of first-degree felony murder and aggravated robbery and served 15 years behind bars.

Following a years-long outcry from activists and celebrities such as Rihanna, Snoop Dogg and LeBron James, she was granted clemency in January by outgoing Gov. Bill Haslam. Otherwise, Brown-Long would’ve had to serve more than 50 years in prison before receiving parole eligibility.

Brown-Long, recently changed her name after she wed music artist and former Pretty Ricky singer, J. Long.

Her memoir is set to hit bookstore shelves in October.
