Chicago-based
filmmaker, film curator and the co-curator as well of the film programming
platform Black Radical Imagination, Amir George is currently venturing on a new
film project.
It’s
entitled Decadent Asylum and it aims to be as different and original than most
films. Though the premise is deceiving at first centering around the experiences
of an ordinary doorman who is transported through a broken door, the film goes further
beyond that simple description and will examine “the bond within us all, our
relationship to the whole, a blueprint from our hearts to the sacred foundation
of all things created”.
But even
beyond that George intends with his new film “to seek (and) explore the
metaphysical realms through a narrative which creates a collective experience
amongst an audience to encourage conversations around sacred science, human
potential, and the art of mysticism”.
Therefore to
realize his singular George has just started an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign
to raise $35,000 by the end of April and he has already put together a team
visual creatives, performance artists and installation artists to create the
visual aesthetics for Decadent Asylum “with the aim creating expressionist,
cubist, and minimalist styles through a surrealist lens"..
Needless to
say, if all this sounds very ambitious and if you’re curious to learn more you
