Rapper Da Brat and her wife Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart are now the proud parents of a baby boy.
Da Brat is expressing gratitude after giving birth to the couple’s bundle of joy in Atlanta on Thursday, People reported.
“I can’t BELIEVE he came out of me!” she told the outlet. “Feels like a dream. He’s PERFECT in every way.”
The adorable baby boy, who is named Truth, came in weighing 7 pounds, 8 ounces while measuring 20 inches long.
“Very appreciative for such a blessing of our bundle of joy,” Da Brat said. “This journey has been more amazing than we could’ve ever imagined.”
Despite feeling apprehensive at first, the pair decided to move forward with their plan to have a child.
“We had a little tug-o-war in the beginning… but I felt like she should have the experience,” Harris-Dupart told People. “She is so nurturing.”
The couple, who conceived with sperm from an anonymous donor and an egg from Harris-Dupart, were devastated when they had a miscarriage on their first try. Despite the heartbreak, they later tried again.
“I had never been so excited about something that I didn’t even know I wanted,” Da Brat said. “I fell in love with the idea and then it was all snatched away from me. Luckily, we still had quite a few of her eggs left.”
The second attempt turned out to be a much happier experience for the couple, who announced their pregnancy in February, according to Vibe. The pair then held a joyous gender reveal party with their loved ones in March. Da Brat and her beloved were showered with blue confetti at their big event while a giant screen revealed the big secret: “It’s A Boy.”
The joyous parents also went to social media to share images from their baby shower.
“Yesterday was our #MINION themed baby shower 💛💙💛 SOOOOO MUCH LOVE IN THE BUILDING 💙💛💙it was so much fun with friends and family 💙💛 ,” Da Brat wrote on Instagram. “We love all of you that celebrated with us.”

Da Brat continued to put on shows for her fans while she was pregnant. The “Funkdafied” rapper performed at the Lovers and Friends Music Festival in Las Vegas in May, Vibe reported.
