Some casting news you can use…
First, for the big screen, Danny Glover has booked a role in the live-action debut of Chris Wedge, best known for Ice Age and last year’s Epic.
Glover joins Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Frank Whaley, Amy Ryan and Holt McCallany in what is said to be a tent-pole project for Paramount titled Monster Trucks.
Plot details are being kept underwraps, but, given the title, one can only speculate that it’s maybe a Transformers rip-off? Its budget is listed at $125 million.
Derek Connolly (Jurassic World) is penning the script.
Glover plays a man who runs a junkyard. But since we don’t yet know what the film is about, we can’t say how his character fits into the overall narrative.
Second, for the small screen, Danielle Nicolet has landed a role in CBS’ comedy pilot Good Session, which comes from writers John Hamburg and Matt Miller and will be directed by Hamburg.
The project revolves around a happy couple who go see a therapist (played by Tracey Ullman) to help them decide if they should have a baby, but discover that they have much more to discuss.
Nicolet has signed up to play a character named Andrea Fisher, who is described as the no-nonsense wife of the best friend of one half of the above couple.
The actress most recently recurred on BET’s The Game.
