It’s looking like Dianna Williams, dance coach and Doll House Dance Factory owner, could be bringing her dancing shoes to USC. Recently, opinions flew across Twitter timelines after a tweet featuring USC’s Cardinal Divas of SC majorette team performing their routine at USC’s first football game went viral.

Twitter was quick to shame the majorette team, blaming them for forcing Black spaces into PWIs.

Williams saved the day when she reposted the viral tweet, offering her iconic coaching skills to the team.

“Well sis, let’s get this training started! Im on the next flight to California!! Dm me,” Williams tweeted.

In a separate post, the reality TV star mentioned the Cardinal Divas of SC creator, @princesslang0, adding, “When you and the gworls are ready let me know! Let the training begin! We can really give them something to talk about!!! I’m investing in your first uniform!”

The debate about where Black students should attain higher education after high school often arises on social media, as users come for each other’s college selections. As the decision comes for every high school senior to enroll in a university or college, Black students are often faced with the pressure of whether to attend a PWI or an HBCU.

Williams continued to defend the team against the masses, posting a slew of tweets supporting the argument that Black spaces are needed everywhere.

Williams knows exactly what it means to take up space. In 2014, her hit dance show on the Lifetime network, *Bring It!, was speculated to fall to the bottom of the network’s roster, but instead, the show became the channel’s fastest-growing show ever.

“We broke barriers in 2014!! We were told we would NOT last! My BLACK KIDS were called names! We were told we didn’t belong and we SMASHED all the critics and shattered that ceiling! We were a BLACK representation there! It’s a dance thing!!,” Williams boasted.

The dance coach also noted that until people have a dream worth fighting for they will always be quick to judge others.

Williams’s final counterattack to the negative tweets was a video of Saweetie performing on a majorette team for San Diego State, asking, “Is this an HBCU?”

For some, an HBCU is an obvious choice. For others, a PWI is more their speed. However, we should simply be proud of the fact that we’re getting a higher education. Many, alongside Williams, roll their eyes at the limitations people place on us.
