Don Cheadle directed this 1980s-inspired short for Vanity Fair, titled H8DES, in which the actor/director offers viewers a snapshot of the defining era marked by Reaganomics, the burgeoning technology scene, and the AIDS and crack epidemics.
The short is part of a new series honoring Vanity Fair’s 100th anniversary, which will see 10 short films directed by other filmmakers, with each one centered on a decade in Vanity Fair’s 100 years of history.
