In the midst of another wild rant, former President Donald Trump suddenly decided to address his alleged interaction with prostitutes in Moscow. The 45th president was speaking at a donor retreat for the National Republican Senatorial Committee in Palm Beach, Florida, when he decided to revisit a rumor that surfaced during his presidency, The Washington Post reports.
Apparently still bothered by the accusations, Trump denied the reports of him watching prostitutes urinate in a Russian hotel.
“I’m not into golden showers,” he told the donors on Thursday. “You know the great thing, our great first lady — ‘That one,’ she said, ‘I don’t believe that one.’”
The statement came in the midst of Trump claiming to be the savior of the GOP, saying he brought Republicans back from the brink of disaster.
“It was a dying party, I’ll be honest. Now we have a very lively party,” he said, despite losing the election, as well as control of the House and Senate, under his presidency.
The 75-year-old also called out Sens. Mitt Romney and Ben Sasse, accusing them of betraying him. He then turned his attention to his usual target, Democrats.
“They cheat like hell, and they stick together,” he said. “The Republican Party has to stick together.”
Sticking with the theme of the past year, Trump continued to insist that the 2020 election was rigged.
“It’s a terrible thing what they did in Georgia and other states,” he said. “You look at Texas, you look at a lot of states — they are correcting all the ways we were all abused over the last election… last two elections if you think about it.”
At some point, the speech somehow shifted to the "pee tape." According to the Cut, the alleged incident happened in 2013 when Trump watched two prostitutes pee on a bed in the presidential suite at Moscow’s posh Ritz-Carlton Hotel. The "golden shower" incident was first seen in a collection of intelligence reports compiled by Christopher Steele, who was hired by the Democratic National Committee to investigate Trump’s ties to Russia.
Reports also indicated that surveillance cameras may have captured the incident. The allegations have never been confirmed.
