Personal care brand Dove recently joined a long list of major companies that has had to backtrack after posting an offensive and racist Facebook advertisement. The company, owned by Unilever, posted an ad of a black woman turning into a white woman after using the brand's lotion.
Really? Who approved this? Where in their minds did they think this was OK?
Social media quickly responded pointing out the blatant racism of the ad and wondering if the company has at least one POC on their marketing team.
"Alright Dove team, we need an ad that'll get everyone's attention!"
Brad: "I got an idea…"

After noticing the furious reactions from consumers, Dove quickly deleted the ad and apologized on Twitter.
An image we recently posted on Facebook missed the mark in representing women of color thoughtfully. We deeply regret the offense it caused.

But as we all know, the Internet is forever, and people are already demanding a boycott of the company's products.
Most racist ad by Dove, let's boycott these arrogant bastards. pic.twitter.com/A7zapo70Lr

I deeply regret that I won't be able to use your products anymore. The apology is almost as tone deaf as the ad.
