We sure have been talking a lot about Mariette Monpierre's debut feature film Elza for a while. But we wouldn't be doing it if it wasn't worth it.

In fact last week I posted an interview with Ms. Monpierre (that you can read HERE) and in it she reveals that for her Elza is more than just a movie. It's an intensely personal statement by her which was inspired by events in her past. It shows in the film too. There's a sensitivity and as well as passon in her film that's quite evident throughout. In other words, it's a film definitely worth seeing. And being shot totally on location in Guadelope of course it's simply gorgeous to look at.

And now after going through the film festival curcuit the film will finally make its U.S. theatrical preimere in New York on Friday November 30th as one of the first films to open the brand new  Harlem MIST Cinemas located at 46 West 116th St

The theater was especially created to showcase new independent black and Latino cinema from around the world. (Lucky New Yorkers!)
