After Netflix decided to increase subscription prices earlier this month, rival streamer Hulu is actually going down on its prices!
Beginning next month Hulu’s basic, ad-supported plan will go down from $7.99 to $5.99. Other plans will say at their same prices, including Hulu’s “no commercials” plan, which is $11.99 and the Hulu/Spotify combo, which is $12.99.
It’s unknown whether this move was decided after Netflix went up on prices, but the timing sure is interesting.
For Netflix, their popular monthly plan, which offers subscribers HD streaming on up to two internet-connected devices at the same time, increased from $11 to $13. The single subscription Netflix planrose from $8 to $9. The four-subscriber Netflix plan went from $14 to $16.
Hulu’s current originals include Marvel’s Runaways and Castle Rock.
