One couple who wants to save money for their special day took things to a new level with a post on social media offering wedding planners “exposure” instead of pay, as reported by indy100.
A future bride made a post on Facebook to find the perfect wedding planner for her upcoming ceremony.
The couple intended to have 200 guests attend the wedding, and didn’t intend on paying for the catering or the venue.
The couple also requested that their ideal planner have “8+ years” of experience, adding that good exposure would come from planning their wedding. So, ultimately, whoever got the job, would be paid in new clientele.
The big catch is that although the couple had no plans to pay for any of the wedding expenses, they still decided to charge any wedding planner interested in taking on the task a nonrefundable $100 application fee just to apply for the position.
A Facebook user came across the post and wasn’t sure if it was real or a “joke,” but posted it in a Reddit community group called ‘Wedding Shaming‘ because they thought it was a good “fit.”
Because the wedding request was so unusual, some Redditors couldn’t help but post their opinions on the couple’s tacky plan to essentially make money instead of spending it.
What are your thoughts on the couple’s approach to their wedding?
