Anyone who has seen the film No Good Deed will know that acclaimed actor (and future James Bond in our heads) Idris Elba is no stranger to playing the villain. With that said, The Fast and the Furious franchise just received a significant upgrade courtesy of Mr. Elba.
The Luther actor has joined the cast of Hobbs and Shaw, a spinoff of The Fast and the Furious starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.
The film will be directed by David Leitch, who will be working from a script written by Chris Morgan.
Elba will be portraying the film’s villain, following in the tradition of Luke Evans, Charlize Evans and Gina Carano.
No stranger to the bold and the complex, Elba will bring his signature Luther swag in tow to create a memorable villain.
The film will be released in theaters on July 26, 2019.
