Issa Rae (I’m sure she doesn’t need an intro at this point!) has launched an original, innovative audio drama, titled “Fruit," which she conceived and wrote, and which you can find on the Howl Premium subscription service, available via an app for iOS and Android, as well as at howl.fm.
The Midroll-owned platform, Howl, which has been called the “Netflix of Podcasts,” offers a range of audio programming, and is available with a free seven-day trial, granting you access to the whole catalog, remastered and ad-free. Howl Premium listeners will also get to tune into exclusive content, including innovative projects like Issa Rae’s "Fruit" – a first-person narrative of an African American professional football star, known only as X, who also happens to be gay.
The audio series is further described as a serious examination of the often surprisingly difficult lives gay pro sports figures lead.
“Fruit" is set to be released in February 2016. Casting is under way.
