POSE star Angelica Ross has joined the upcoming web series King Ester as an executive producer. She will also co-star.
The web series, from Dui Jarrod, is being prepped for the 2019 festival circuit. for the upcoming short form web series King Ester, being primed for the 2019 festival circuit.
King Ester is set to follow a daring transgender woman, Ester (played by DeJaye Joseph), in New Orleans, Louisiana, as she navigates her sexual identity and her quest for stardom, but the wrath of Hurricane Katrina ravages the city and lives around her.
The project will star Janet Hubert (of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air fame), Martin Bradford, LJ Scott, Dan Edidi and Lindsey G. Smith.
Jarrod is the writer and director.
Alongside Jarrod and Ross, Caralene Robinson, Ryan Robertson,and Jon Mallow also executive produce.
“I couldn’t be more excited to have Angelica join the King Ester Family. Her activism in the community, as well as her work on Pose and the Emmy nominated Her Story, makes her the perfect fit. I’m excited she sees the promise in this important story,” said Jarrod.
Ross currently stars as Candy Abundance on FX’s hit new series, Pose. She also starred in the Emmy-nominated short form series, Her Story and had an arc on TNT’s Claws.
