Mandela Van Peebles – son of director/actor Mario Van Peebles – has booked a co-starring role in Lionsgate’s next installment in its seemingly never-ending “Saw” franchise, to be titled “Saw: Legacy.”
Details on what will be the 8th “Saw” film are limited at the moment; but, like all the others that came before it, it’ll likely revolve around John Kramer, a.k.a. Jigsaw, who places his victims in deadly traps that test their will to live.
“Saw: Legacy” will be directed by sibling duo Peter and Michael Spierig from a script by Pete Goldfinger, Josh Stolberg, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell.
Set to be released in theaters in time for Halloween this year – October 27 – the movie is produced by Mark Burg, Gregg Hoffman, and Oren Koules, who produced all 7 previous “Saw” movies.
Mandela Van Peebles most recently appeared in the remake/reboots of “Roots” for A&E.
He is repped by Primary Wave Entertainment.
