Families and students in Atlanta are ready for school, all thanks to Quavo, his Quavo Cares Foundation and the Tender Foundation. The event marked the second annual Ultimate Back 2 School Giveback. Families attended the community event at The Gathering Spot in Atlanta on Saturday.

According to Vibe, in honor of Rocketman, aka Takeoff, and taking Atlanta kids to new heights, the Migos rapper and his entourage wore jerseys sporting number 94 and “Rocket Power” on the back.

According to Fox5, the back-to-school event provided more than 270 local families with school necessities like backpacks, clothes, sneakers and notebooks. Additionally, the day included fun-filled activities and games, music, a sensory station, balloon animal making, face painting, mini basketball and raffles.

“I needed back-to-school products for the kids,” a parent, Nadisha Williams, said. “They were there for me.”

“If I need diapers for the kids, they had it. If I needed funds to pay bills, they had it,” she continued. “When my son came in, the first thing he said was ‘Ooh mom, book-bag. Ooh, mom, calculator!'”

The event marked another milestone in the partnership between the Quavo Cares Foundation and the Tender Foundation. In 2022, the organizations worked together during Quavo’s Huncho Day celebrity football game. Quavo Cares donated a $150,000 grant to the Tender Foundation to support their guaranteed income program for black single moms in Atlanta.

“We’re just giving back to the kids,” Jaycina Almond, with the Tender Foundation, explained to FOX 5. “From keeping the fridge stocked to housing and everything in between. We have emergency bill pay, assistance with rent, utilities and child care costs.”
