It looks like Phaedra Parks is ready to bury the hatchet with her former BFF and The Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star, Kandi Burruss. The two became estranged in the midst of Parks’ divorce from Apollo Nida, with Parks believing Burruss was absent emotionally.
Despite several attempts to make things better, things got to the point of no return after it was revealed during the Season 9 reunion that Parks was behind a damaging rumor involving Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker planning to sexually assault Porsha Williams. Parks was fired from the show as a result.
In her recently, highly-anticipated appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Parks talked about possibly being friends with Burruss again.
“We’re both two very strong powerful black women- so as a mom, we’re both moms, I teach my kids that they can resolve anything and so I would never say never,” she said. “Reconciliation is always possible.”
During a recent chat with The Jasmine Brand, Parks’ name was mentioned, with Brand noting that there are rumors Parks is being vetted for a return for season 14. Burruss immediately shot it down, telling Brand, “I’m not even talking about that.”
Cohen also asked parks and the other guests to raise their hand if they would consider returning to their franchises. After appearing to give the question some thought, Parks raised her hand.
Since the season 9 scandal, Burruss has been adamant that she’s not only refusing to make amends with Parks, but she’s also threatened to quit the show if Parks returns.
Burruss told People back in 2019 that her peach would be in jeopardy if Parks made a comeback. “You know, for me it’s like if that’s what they wanna do I’m fine, I’m cool but I just won’t be a part of that,” she said at the time.
With contracts for season 14 said to be going out soon, let’s see if Burruss is a woman of her word. If it means anything, Burruss didn’t speak to nor work with two of her group members from Xscape for nearly 20 years after they fell out. With that being said, Burruss has a history of sticking to her promises.
