We didn’t see this one coming.

In July, we first reported that Roe V. Wade, the controversial anti-abortion film starring Stacey Dash that revolves around the landmark 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that guaranteed a woman’s right to an abortion, was struggling to find financing. However, that no longer seems to be the case.

Variety reported earlier today that BCL Finance Group has inked a deal to complete the financing of the controversial political drama.  The film stars a who’s who of Hollywood’s more conservative-leaning stars, such as Jon Voight, Robert Davi and Dash, of course.

The film, directed, written and produced by Nick Loeb and Cathy Allan, saw many of its cast and crew members drop out due to its political stance. Therefore, this piece of news may come as a surprise to many.

“There are a numerous films focused on this divisive issue, as well as many others, and BCL welcomes the opportunity to discuss financing possibilities with all projects on an equal opportunity basis,” BCL Finance Group said in a statement issued Sept. 4.

BCL Finance Group is headed by Adi Cohen, who has produced films such as Snowden and Hacksaw Ridge, an Oscar-nominated drama directed by Mel Gibson, who has generated controversy for his anti-Semitic and racist remarks in the past.
