Carl Weber’s The Black Hamptons is coming back to BET+ for a second season with new cast members in tow.
This time around, Richard Lawson, Steven Williams, RonReaco Lee, Blue Kimble, Niki Taylor, Flex Alexander, Horace Dodd, Jessica Obilom, Vincent Ward and Thomas Calabro are among the new cast members joining returning cast members Lamman Rucker, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Elise Neal, Brian White, KaRon Riley, Mike Merrill, Angela ‘Blac Chyna’ White, Aaron Spears, Shalom Obiago, Daya Vaidya, Cameo Sherrell and Jennifer Freeman.
Lawson plays Moses Britton, the Britton family patriarch whose returning to the Hamptons to take back his title as head of the family from Carolyn Britton (Calloway). Williams plays Alexander Cora, a billionaire who, according to BET+, “never fails to be the center of controversy and adventure as he partners with Anthony Johnson and Vanessa Britton on a new tech invention.”
Lee’s character Bobby Boyd is a middleweight boxing champion who comes to Sag Harbor to look for his new protégé, Peter Lane (Ritz Williams). He’s confronted by Peter’s father, who proves to be a challenge. He also becomes a love interest to Karrin. Kimble plays Christopher, known as “The Fixer.” He’s Carolyn’s new attorney, hired to keep Moses in prison so she can have complete ownership over their bank. Christopher is also Carolyn’s friend-with-benefits.
Dodd’s character Aries Cora is seemingly his father’s favorite and is just beginning to enjoy what Sag Harbor has to offer. Taylor’s character Alyssa is a famous chef and sister to Vanessa Britton (Vaidya). Alyssa is much more cunning than Vanessa, but they both team up to take on one of the Black Hamptons’ couples for revenge.
Calabro plays Eli Bradshaw, a real estate mogul with the intent to take over Sag Harbor, while Alexander plays Lojack, aka Devin. He’s Michael Donovan’s (William L. Johnson) cousin and seemingly knows everything, helping his cousins with information for Sydney Tech. Obilom plays Adora, a famous artist making her introduction to the Black Hamptoms through a charity auction, and Ward plays Cornelius, Bobby’s manager and right-hand man. He’s there to help Bobby secure his next protégé and give him advice on his various relationships.
Based on Carl Weber’s novel of the same name, The Black Hamptons follows the affluent Black families of the Sag Harbor as they interact with each other and unearth family drama. According to the official description:
A family drama set in the quaint town of Sag Harbor, known as “The Black Hamptons,” follows the lives of the Brittons and the Johnsons where the difference between old money and new money is very apparent. Carl Weber’s “The Black Hamptons” not only features the glitz and gloss of the Black elite, but also exposes the secrets of wealth and prestige. With a mix of legacy families, their friends, wannabes and thirsty developers, drama can never be too far behind.
