From writer/director/professor Rel Dowdell (“Changing the Game”) comes a new documentary from his Dowdell Film Company and Artists 1st, titled “Where’s Daddy?” which promises to offer perspectives on the child support system and the specific effects it has on African American families, with emphasis on the fathers.
Contributing to the documentary on camera are hip-hop artist Freeway, former Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl receiver Fred Barnett, comedian J’Vonne Pearson, journalist Mister Mann Frisby, Hall of Fame Coach Bill Ellerbee, educator Ogbonna Hagins, physician Dr. Ralph Smith, and many others.
According to producer Skye Dennis, the film is “meant to create a conversation and not a division between men and women of color.”
“Where’s Daddy?” is produced by Skye Dennis, Justin Douglas and Maurice Floyd.
The filmmaker has premiered a first trailer for the documentary which will be released this year.
